After months of planning, sourcing, and refining every detail, the moment has finally arrived — my cycling kit samples are here. And I’ll be honest… I’ve been genuinely excited to share this.
This isn’t just another “product drop” update. This is the foundation of what I want to build: high-quality, performance-driven cycling apparel that actually delivers where it matters — on the bike.
Over the past weekend, I had the chance to properly test everything out in real riding conditions. Not lab conditions, not staged photos — just proper rides in typical UK spring weather. And I’ve got a lot to say.

What’s Included in the Sample Kit?
The current sample lineup includes:
- Flanders Jersey – Olive Line
- Gravel Shirt – Olive Line
- Salient Race Mesh Jersey
- Salient Bib Shorts
- Cobbles Silent Indoor Top & Bottoms
Each piece has been designed with a specific purpose in mind — whether that’s endurance comfort, breathability, or indoor performance.
First Impressions: Quality That Stands Out
Let’s get straight to it — the quality is genuinely impressive.
From the moment I unpacked everything, it was clear these weren’t average, off-the-shelf pieces. The stitching is clean, the materials feel premium, and there’s a noticeable attention to detail across every item.
The fabrics feel durable without being heavy. There’s a balance between structure and flexibility that you only really notice when you wear it — especially on longer rides.
Zips are smooth, seams are well-placed (no awkward rubbing), and the overall finish is exactly what I was hoping for
Real-World Ride Test: Cold Weather Performance
I put the kit through two proper rides over the weekend:
- Temperature: ~9°C
- Wind: 10–15 km/h
-
Ride Types:
- Long Zone 2 endurance ride
- Steady outdoor spin with varied terrain
These are the kinds of conditions where kit really matters. Not freezing, but cold enough that poor gear will ruin your ride quickly.
Warmth & Comfort
The biggest takeaway? The kit handled it effortlessly.
I stayed warm throughout both rides without overheating. That’s a tricky balance to get right — especially during a Zone 2 session where you’re not pushing max power but still need consistent temperature regulation.
The jerseys provided just enough insulation while still allowing breathability. No clammy feeling, no overheating on slight efforts.
Flanders Jersey – Olive Line: Built for Endurance
This piece really stood out during the longer ride.
The fit is performance-oriented without being restrictive. It sits well on the body, doesn’t bunch up, and stays in place — even when shifting position on the bike.
The material offers a solid level of thermal protection for cooler rides, making it ideal for spring, autumn, and early mornings.
Key Highlights:
- Excellent temperature control
- Comfortable for long-duration rides
- Premium feel without bulk
This is the kind of jersey you reach for when you know you’re going to be out for a few hours.
Gravel Shirt – Olive Line: Versatile & Relaxed
The gravel shirt brings a slightly more relaxed feel while still maintaining performance credibility.
It’s ideal for:
- Casual rides
- Mixed terrain sessions
- Riders who prefer a less aggressive fit
Despite the more relaxed style, it still performs well in cooler conditions. It’s breathable, comfortable, and easy to wear for extended periods.
Salient Race Mesh Jersey: Lightweight Performance
On the other end of the spectrum, the race mesh jersey is all about breathability and performance.
This is your go-to for:
- Higher intensity rides
- Indoor sessions
- Warmer conditions
The material is noticeably lighter, and airflow is excellent. Even during efforts, it helps regulate temperature effectively.
Salient Bib Shorts: Comfort That Competes With the Best
Now let’s talk about arguably the most important piece of any cycling kit — the shorts.
And this is where expectations were high.
The Verdict?
They absolutely delivered.
The comfort level is right up there with my personal favourite pair of shorts that I’ve used for years — which is saying a lot.
Padding (Chamois)
- Soft, supportive, and well-positioned
- No pressure points
- No discomfort over longer durations
Even during the longer Zone 2 ride, there were zero issues. No irritation, no need to adjust, no discomfort creeping in toward the end.
Fit & Feel
- Snug without being restrictive
- Stays in place throughout the ride
- No bunching or movement
These are the kind of shorts you forget you’re wearing — which is exactly what you want.
Cobbles Silent Indoor Kit: Built for Controlled Environments
Indoor riding requires a completely different approach to kit design.
You’re dealing with:
- Higher sweat rates
- Less airflow
- Consistent effort levels
The Cobbles Silent indoor top and bottoms are clearly designed with this in mind.
They’re lightweight, breathable, and focused on moisture management. Perfect for:
- Turbo sessions
- Structured training
- Virtual racing
Why This Matters: Building a Brand You Can Trust
One of the biggest goals with this project is transparency.
There’s a lot of cycling kit out there that looks good online but doesn’t deliver in real-world conditions.
I don’t want that.
That’s why I’m personally testing everything — properly. Real rides, real conditions, honest feedback.
This isn’t about pushing products. It’s about building something that riders can actually rely on.
What’s Coming Next
This is just the beginning.
Photos & Visuals
I’ll be uploading a full set of photos so you can see exactly how the kit looks on-body — not just studio shots, but real-world riding visuals.
Ride Video
I’m also putting together a video of me riding in the kit. This will give you a better sense of:
- Fit in motion
- How the materials behave
- Overall look and feel on the bike
Upcoming Advert Campaign
Next step is launching an advert campaign — and I’ll be doing something a bit different here.
I’ll be putting myself on camera.
Why?
Because I think it matters.
There’s a lot of faceless brands out there. I want people to know there’s a real person behind this — someone who rides, tests, and genuinely cares about the product.
Final Thoughts
After the first proper test, I can confidently say:
- The quality is exactly where it needs to be
- The comfort is genuinely impressive
- The performance holds up in real conditions
There’s still more testing to do — especially in different weather and ride intensities — but the early signs are very strong.
If you’re someone who values:
- Comfort on long rides
- Reliable performance in changing conditions
- Premium feel without compromise
Then this is going to be worth keeping an eye on.
